WHAT IS A TOUR DIRECTOR?

As a type of project manager/customer service representative, the tour director is responsible for leading a group of travelers on a multi-day sightseeing tour. The group travels together, eats together, and experiences the activities of the tour together. The tour director wears many hats. They are in charge of logistics, researching and delivering commentary, keeping track of guest food allergies and requests, partnering with the motorcoach driver, and more. It’s definitely a challenging job, but it’s also incredibly rewarding.

TOURCONNECT 2024 CONFERENCE

Once you complete the training, it is time to interview for a job in your new career! The best place to do that is at our annual TourConnect conference and career expo. Not only will you learn about job opportunities and fundamental skills in our educational sessions, you’ll also network with and learn from experienced professionals who’ve been in the industry for years. If you complete only the online training program, you will receive a 30% discount on conference registration.
If you complete both the online training program and the in-person practicum, you will receive a 60% discount on conference registration.

Online Program ($849.00)
Registration includes full online training program, live virtual sessions, and one-on-one coaching session. You will receive a certificate of online course completion upon successful completion of the online program.
Online Program & In-Person Practicum ($1,834.00)
Registration includes full online training program, live virtual instruction, and one-on-one coaching session. The in-person practicum includes 3 nights in a hotel (in a shared room), 2 days of motorcoach training, 2 dinners, 1 full day of classroom training, and 1 group activity. You will receive an IATDG Tour Director Certification Certificate upon successful completion of the program. Travel costs to/from Denver and all other meals not listed above are not included.

Registration includes full online training program, live virtual instruction, and one-on-one coaching session. You will receive a certificate of online course completion upon successful completion of the online program. This also includes registration to the TourConnect 2024 conference (this is a 30% discount on conference registration - hotel and most meals not included). In-person practicum and travel costs to/from Denver are not included. (Please note: You will receive a code to register for the conference from our team at a later date. Please do not register for the conference separately at this time.)

Terms

$250 of your registration fee is non-refundable.

This registration allows for a deposit to be paid and the remaining fee will be automatically charged to the card on file on September 8, 2024. If the course is not completed successfully a certificate will not be awarded to the student. Accommodations will be made to those students who do not successfully complete by offering a second opportunity to take the course.

Note: For those who complete only the online program, you will receive a certificate of completion of the online course. For those who complete both the online program and the in-person practicum, you will receive an IATDG Tour Director Certification certificate, showing that you have been certified by IATDG and are ready to work.
